Blonde Jimin... why?

I've been thinking about this question.

Even though Jimin has told us his favourite hair colour is black, i can see why he would want to switch it up. This was his last opportunity to do something wild with his hair before military service after all.

Blonde is pretty pedestrian though

I love blonde on Jimin (but I love anything on Jimin, let's be real) but I'm inclined to say a more vibrant colour might have better suited the theatrical vibe of the MUSE album.

And he did say he liked the pink from BWL

Whatever way you look at it, there were plenty of stylistic choices he could have made for his hair other than blonde.

So why blonde?

A lot of ARMY love Jimin with blonde hair so maybe - a big maybe - it was to please us. So let's get that idea out of the way.

But I doubt it's that, considering he's clearly doing exactly as he pleases these days

The barbed shape is kinda neat, but in general this thing is pretttttty thin. If you know me at all then you know where i stand on the whole thin vs. phat tail debate, so I can't say W's tail impresses me all that much. Very thin, but very light and I imagine pretty quick. I wonder how sharp the end of that thing really is, but I'd guess that's it's likely safe to touch. I'm still in chapter 6 and admittedly don't know much about W as a character yet, but I imagine she'd either cause petty mischief with it in some way or alternatively get all embarrassed pissed if it's accidentally touched. I wonder what it tastes like. W tail rating: i am probably going to step on it (by accident)

Hiii! Sorry, it took so long, was a bit busy. Also don't worry I'm not gonna judge, after all, it's pretty fun to explore this side of the characters.

Warning: It's pretty long so it goes under the cut.

(Also I imagined it as some sort of party)

Crush:

Nope, nope. Astaroth is seething inside. How dare this worm bother the Hunter with useless drivel? And why, oh why isn't the Hunter leaving, could they like it? No, no, he shall hear no reason like duty and politeness or silly things like that.

While there is little he can do about it - unless he wants to get into an ugly fight - Astaroth does what he knows best, talk. He picks apart everything about that worm, from the way they speak and look, the clothes they wear, the way they carry themself.

Poor Hunter will have to leave to spare themself a headache.

And if Hunter don't? Well, fine, they forced his hand. He's willing to go into a fight over this.

Regardless of how it happens, Astaroth is right as rain the moment Hunter leaves the worm in the dust. Back to jokes – fine, he’ll even grovel a bit, or more until they stop cursing him out.

Just this once.

Relationship:

Here he is more assured, confident. Because Hunter is his and nothing can take that away. So, who cares if some poor thing makes a fool out of themself trying to flirt with someone as radiant as the Hunter? Ha!

He would watch this - with his head resting on the Hunter's shoulder arms wrapped around their waist. Draped lazily over their back, he enjoys the show. An amused smirk plays on his lips as his eyes follow the bumbling fool. It widens when they stumble over their words.

Astaroth wants to cheer the idiot – “Go on, make a bigger fool out of yourself, amuse us!” – but he doesn’t, just nitpicks the attempts to himself. Frankly, he heard better flirting.

 He'll be quiet, only speaking when the idiot finally scampers away.

"Hm, I almost feel sorry." Lips brush the Hunter’s neck, a brief kiss against their warmth. “Almost.”

Crush:

Moon would freeze, not knowing what do to. Well, she does know but she isn’t that idiotic. She wants to slide near the Hunter and intertwine their fingers together. And Hunter placing a kiss on her knuckles while she sends the beau a smug look.

No, that’s downright idiotic. Moon has a duty, an obligation. She should be by her husband's side, be his darling wife. She shots a glance at the man by her side, see his gaze snap back to her. She flashes him a quick, meaningless smile, her eyes already back on the Hunter.

Movement from the little beau and Hunter, the person raising a hand to touch them. She bites her lips, wrapping her wings around herself. Oh, but would you look at that? Another person bumped into the beau before their hand touched Hunter.

Those two seem stricken by each other, you can just see the hearts floating around each other. They walk off like two loverbirds.

How adorable! How fortunate the little beau had found their mate! Isn’t Moon such a caring goddess?

The self-satisfied smile on her face withers when her eyes meet Hunter’s, quirked eyebrow and unreadable expression on their face. Moon flushes, feathers ruffled. Turning to her husband she places her arm delicately on the crook of his elbow, trying to focus on him, his lips, his words.

Relationship:

Moon sweeps between them with fluttering feathers and a trailing dress. Her tinkling laugh steals the beau’s attention and her smile is like the sun.  Warm, radiant. She enchants the person until they’re so enamored with her they forget Hunter is even there.

But she doesn’t. Moon’s eyes are always on them, flashing them a smile meant for them. Soft, adoring. Brushes of her knuckles against the back of their hand, featherlight and gone in a flash. It burns her and she wants nothing more than just leave this party.

Somehow, she manages to make the beau leave. With a wink, she turns to the Hunter and discreetly tugs at their wrist. Once they are in a secluded and shadowed corner away from prying eyes, she presses herself against them, lips seeking theirs in a heated kiss. Her hands search purchase on their clothes, trailing.

“Hello, love. Missed me?” Her words are faint against their lips.

Crush:

They would watch – glare, if you were to ask anyone else, over the rim of their cup, sipping slowly. They’re being silly, Night knows that. Hunter is their own person – this is just a childish crush, it will pass. But why does their heart do a painful squeeze when Hunter reciprocates?

Why do they wish that smile was for them?

They glance away, lips pursed in a thin line. Sneaking a glance back, they run a hand through their hair. How… pathetic they are, pinning for someone who doesn’t even know they care.

Ridiculous. They’ll leave – not because of this little scene, no, no! – but because the Underworld is busy. Night can hardly leave it unattended for a silly party.

Yes, that’s exactly why. Downing the last of the wine, they’re gone before anyone else notices.

Relationship:

A hum leaves their throat, watching the spectacle unfold. Night is not amused, more like curious. How will this happen, will the person take rejection gracefully? Some do, some don’t. A shame, to embarrass oneself for this.

Their steps bring them closer to the Hunter. They have a questioning look in their eyes – is this alright? Do you need help?

The Hunter shakes their head and Night’s shoulders drop slightly. Still, they give their hand a quick squeeze, a touch of heavy wings on their back gone just as soon. A flash of a warm smile accompanied by a nod and they leave. The Hunter can take care of themselves – but Night would keep an eye from the corner of the room.

When the Hunter returns to their side, Night smiles softly at them, leaning their shoulder against them. They start talking in soft, hushed voices.

Crush:

The other partygoers give them a pitying glance.

They have been standing in the same spot for quite a time, hovering uselessly around a certain conversation.

Poor thing.

Some have tried to engage this lone figure.

Santana flashes their current conversation partner – a woman with auburn hair and pretty green eyes – a fleeting smile and they try. To be aware, present and listen. Yet their answers are short and quiet with a gaze more often than not on Hunter.

Peering at this person, Santana knows it’s silly – they don’t know all people after all. But maybe they know this one or heard of them. Tall and bearing a proud figure, Santana’s mind blanks. They can’t put a name on the face.

It was to be expected, but it did nothing to quell the disappointment in them. With a huff, they can’t help but be curious, who is this person to have the courage to flirt with a god so brazenly?

Another bigger part is annoyed by how easily they capture Hunter's attention with so much confidence in each gesture.

Santana frowns, trying to ignore the incessant tugging in their heart, like a thin thread wrapped around Hunter's fingers.

A small nudge against their shoulder brings them back to reality with a startle. Santana blinks wide eyes at the woman, cheeks flushed. Her eyes sparkle with mirth.

How rude of them!

Before they can release a torrent of apologies, she cuts in with a jerk of her head. "Your partner?"

They follow her gaze and their cheeks flush harder, mortified. "No!" Their voice is a little too loud, too high-pitched.

Curious eyes glance their way and Santana gulps, shoulders rising to their burning ears. Especially when they feel the Hunter's gaze, hot and scorching on their skin.

Why can't the earth open up and swallow them?

The woman snorts and takes another sip of her wine. "No offense, friend, but you're a terrible liar."

A small pause. "None taken." They rub a hand at the back of their throat, unsure. "But nothing is going between us."

“Sure, friend.” Santana frowns, not liking her sarcastic words.  She lifts a shoulder, swirling the wine in her glass. “There won’t be anything else if you keep watching.”

They watch her, the veil of melancholy that feel on her face. It saddens them. “I’m sorry.”

She blinks at them, for a moment looking taken back. A quick bark of amusement slips past her lips, shaking her head. “There is nothing to be sorry about friend. We just made our choices.” A fleeting pat on their shoulder and the woman leaves, blending in the crowd.

Santana blinks at the spot she was. Ah well, there goes their excuse to linger around. With one look at Hunter, Santana bites their lips, hard.

Taking a deep breath, their feet bring them closer. Hunter turns their head slightly and Santana smiles, eyes on them. Trying to stop their hand from trembling, they place it on the crook of Hunter’s arm.

“Hello. I’m Santana.”

Relationship:

Santana would pause, fingers wrapping tighter around the cups they are carrying. Of course, they left their side and someone already swooped in. A furtive glance at the person reveals a stranger.

Another glance to Hunter and they don’t seem interested. Good.

A frown worms it way on their face - how to approach this? What version of them did the Hunter like more?

With a shake of their head, Santana sighs and resumes their way. Smiling warmly at Hunter, they give them a cup. Now with their hand freed, they slide it across Hunter's back, resting on their hips.

Taking a sip of their drink, Santana watches the stranger over the rim of their cup. "Hello. I'm Santana." A small nod, eyes inquisitive. "And who might you be?"

Crush:

??? would hover so close, just behind Hunter's shoulder, staring at the other speaker. The other person would shift before finally leaving.

With them gone, ??? would turn to Hunter and ask in a small, quiet voice. "Is this something you to often? Bedding mortals?" There is no reproach in their voice, mere curiosity.

"Are... are you offering?" The answer is befuddled, lacking any kind of heat.

They would tilt their head, mapping the Hunter's features with their eyes.

"No."

Still, they don't leave, sticking to Hunter like a quiet shadow.

Relationship:

A simple look is enough to tell them everything they need to know. ??? would wrap their fingers around Hunter's wrist and drag them away from the stranger.

They would search a quiet spot, potentially the garden before slidding down and resting their head on Hunter's shoulder.

I'm here on the behalf of the "send me a character" ask game and I'm going to cheat by asking for two characters: Hua Cheng and mtp Sherlock Holmes (bc tgcf and mtp are both special interests of mine and I'm always excited remembering you post about both of them)

Sherlock Holmes (Moriarty the Patriot)

My first impression: tbh he definitely grew on my gradually, I seem to remember watching the anime the first time and every time the focus was on him being like BACK TO WILLIAM BACK TO WILLIAM.

My impression now: I am so fond of him. I think he is sincerely such a lovely adaptation of Conan Doyle's character. He's lively and silly and moody and awkward and smart and caring and I just really like him.

Favorite thing about that character: I feel like he's very...steadfast. He sets his mind to something and just goes for it, stubbornly. Sometimes unhealthily. But I admire it.

Least favorite thing: I do still get a little bored anytime the story is just on him without William. I love him best when he's with his hubby.

Favorite line/scene: obvious pick but THAT whole interaction on the train is one of my favourite scenes in the whole series. "I was just thinking it'd be fun if you were that clever mastermind"????? [parapharasing again] Sherlock that is crazy people talk, what are you on about you kinky weirdo. But also the bridge scene is right up there. And the rooftop.

Favorite interaction that character has with another: extremely hard to pick between Sherliam moments but I think I'm gonna land on the entirety of chapter 67.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Hmm. Bond, maybe. I want to see them get really chummy in part two.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Sherlock Holmes from the original ACD stories. 🤣 (Again, I'll edit if/when I think of a better answer)

A headcanon about that character: He idolized Mycroft as a little kid but between a mix of teenage cringe-syndrome over hanging out with big bro and the ways he sees their worldviews as diverging, they drifted apart as he got older.

An unpopular opinion about that character: Idk if this counts, but that he doesn't actually actively dislike women (though he is very gay and not interested in them romantically/sexually) he's just annoyed by the front proper Victorian society makes them put on. Once he actually gets to know a woman, he usually likes them.

Hua Cheng (Heaven Official's Blessing)

My first impression: I first saw a clip of the scene where he's leading Xie Lian through the bloody forest in the wedding clothes beneath the red umbrella, and I downright swooned over the romance of it all.

My impression now: basically the same. THE romantic character. Like. Literally a character who exists for the sole purpose of loving another. I'm getting sentimental in my old age, because I would have turned my nose up at that idea fifteen years ago, but now I adore it.

Favorite thing about that character: he's just so gentle and careful and thoughtful and loving? But also powerful and dangerous. Knight in shining armour hours. But then to be all of that and also be such a bratty, sometimes teasing and sometimes sulky husband is so funny I love it.

Least favorite thing: Uhhh. Hmm. I get why he's mean to...basically everybody but Xie Lian, because everyone has been cruel to Xie Lian. But in a sort of realistic sense that I don't actually bother to apply to fiction like this, I'd like to see him encourage Xie Lian to have other people in his life. It's fine if he wants to stay mad at Feng Xin and Mu Qing, but he should invite Yushi Huang for tea and encourage Xie Lian to hang out with Yin Yu and so on. It would be good for them both to have other friends. But like. That's me forcing myself to come up with an answer lmao.

Favorite line/scene: any big romantic speech, but also anytime he just absolutely embarrasses himself. "Gege, want to get married?" PFFFT. Loser (I love him.)

Favorite interaction that character has with another: I think the part where he's disguised and Xie Lian is laughing at him and he's pouting, and then "Only after having met you did I rediscover that it's such a simple thing to be happy." Just imagining what that must have done to Hua Cheng's heart makes me so happy.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Yushi Huang. They are covert infiltration buddies.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Has there ever before been this level of simp? Has anyone else romanced so hard? I'm gonna say maybe Kurogane from TRC, because ( TRC SPOILERS) while Hua Cheng is much softer and more poetic about his love, Kurogane did cut off his own arm to save his beloved, and bond his soul to a vampire who could only feed on him, and definitely seems the type to do what Hua Cheng did in the current donghua arc with refusing to let Xie Lian take blame beyond what he actually had done even when that was what Xie Lian wanted. Those all feel like Hua Cheng levels of dedication.

A headcanon about that character: just absolutely and entirely overwhelmed by actually having sex with Xie Lian the first few times. He cries. He maybe panics a little. He comes too fast. He cries some more. Xie Lian adores him.

A song that reminds of that character: I mean, A Thousand Years is more about Hua Cheng than it's ever been about anyone else ever. But also this.

An unpopular opinion about that character: apparently, in some corners, my belief that the donghua version is very very in character to the novel would be unpopular lol

hey cas!! hope you're doing good <3 so my best friend realised something huge about her future recently; she has always been into this one career but now she finds more interest in this other career and in my country those two careers are like completely different streams

the following info from Google for context :- Science: Includes subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer science Commerce: Includes subjects like accountancy, economics, business studies, and mathematics Arts/Humanities: Includes subjects like history, political science, sociology, economics, and languages she was very science oriented and her current stream in mind falls under arts/humanities. we get to take more personalized subjects in about two years time in school and its an absolutely crucial time. my best friend is undoubtedly pretty smart. she doesn't know whether to stick with science incase she doesn't like her arts/humanities subjects or to just take them instead but her parents want her to keep science and I know I'm just her best friend but she has been my absolute closest friend since the first day of 3rd grade which is around 6 and a half years so I think I can say I know her pretttttty well and this is just my pov but she seems way more relaxed with the career option she has right now in mind versus the science oriented career? like I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT change in her behaviour. she's less worried about being a perfectionist in science (she still tries to get good grades obviously but she doesn't get as obsessive about it) and its really made her idk, happier these days? like even my mom would describe her as sort of "grumpy" in the joking way but I swear everytime I see this girl in school she is SMILING and she is GLOWING and I could go on but she just seems so RELAXED, and I'm just her best friend but I'd say the current career option is pretty well suited for her. but idk. im too scared to tell her too much of my opinion because I'm literally her age and well what if her parents are right about the whole "take science to keep your options open" thing? my parents agree with hers but a friend of mine agrees with me - she should drop science because honestly? science in our country in our junior and senior year is PRETTY HARD and if you ask me taking science with the intention to study arts/humanities in college is pretty stupid because our school is literally one of the best in the city (in my opinion its the best because our competitor school is just "all show no substance") and we do have a prettttty good reputation for arts/humanities and commerce. science not so much but people take coaching outside school anyway. so if we already have such a good system she should just trust in it. but idk I don't wanna push her to make any wrong decisions. I'm trying to be as supportive as I can because in our country, taking science is deemed to be a really respectable thing and everyone is under the impression my best friend would take science. but I know its making her happier. but I don't wanna push her to do something that could impact her whole FUTURE. I'm a pretty extroverted person and I'm friends with loads of sophomores and they have to pick their subjects for their junior year right now and I know one person who's taking the same career path my best friend is interested in and I intend on asking her how she was sure and stuff. and I'm trying to research on the side as well to help her make her decision, I'm asking peoples opinions and what they think and am kind of getting mixed reactions?

Honestly, I think you should support her to do what will make her happy, as long as she's making an informed decision. Too many people decide on their careers based on what everyone else thinks, and then they end up miserable. If she's sure that she wants to wrk in humanities and seems happy, support her.

My only warning with this is with any career choice, it's important to research it before making life-changing decisions (selecting coursework, for example). So she should look into the career she wants. Check the requirements, the pay rate, the hours, things like that. Make sure it fits with the lifestyle she envisions. If it does, and she is making an informed choice, then fuck what everyone else thinks.

Writing Tips

so someone asked me if i had any writing tips. i am beyond flattered and i’m so so honored!!!

in no way do i claim to be a professional writer, i’ve just been reading and writing fanfiction for a long time and i’m pretttttty sure i know my way around by now!!

this is not a specific how to list, writing is very personal and subjective to the author. these are just some basic rules that may help you.

—-

the most important thing i could ever tell anyone who wanted to write would be this — show, don’t tell.

this basically means instead of saying: “Bob was sad.”

DESCRIBE what he’s doing! if he’s sad, maybe he’s sitting at a table with his head in his hands! if he’s angry, maybe his fists are clenched!

always remember that your characters are human (or human-like haha) and have human emotions!!

-the secret art of writing is that everything you do is for the reader. as a writer, it’s your job to create a world and characters where those two things interact with each other.

always remember your audience. if you’re writing fanfiction for young adults, maybe don’t overcompensate your writing by using “fancy words” that the majority might not understand… no one wants to look up the meaning of a word when they are reading fanfiction

the opposite also goes- if you’re writing academically for colleagues with the same skill level and knowledge as you, feel free to use all those big fancy words! it may even help your credibility as an author if you know how to correctly use those words, make sure you aren’t just cluttering your writing

setting and character go hand in hand.

-don’t overwhelm your reader!! it’s tempting to just explain everything all right away, all the lore, all the characters — but that makes your writing very difficult and overwhelming to read. instead, reveal things like that slowly.

-characterization!! i could talk about characterization for hours, but here are a few basic things to remember!

direct characterization: the author explicitly tells the reader something about the character. (example: Bob was very tall.)

indirect characterization: the author reveals a character’s traits through their actions or words. (example: if a character is always seen as asking a lot of questions, the reader can probably assume that the character is very inquisitive/curious.)

-let your readers mind fill in the blanks!!

if your setting is at the beach, your reader most likely already has a clear picture of the beach in their mind. don’t spend precious words talking about the waves hitting the sand, the reader already knows that!

-and finally, as my beloved ap lang teacher always says: BE CONCISE AND PRECISE!!!!!!

of course, with creative writing you’re guaranteed a little more imagery and artistic freedom, but still be cautious!

okay and now here’s some more technical stuff!!

-when you switch speakers, start a new paragraph!

correct:

“Hi,” Speaker A said. “How are you?”

“I’m good,” Speaker B replied.

wrong:

“Hi,” Speaker A said. “How are you?” “I’m good,” Speaker B replied.

-when you have dialogue ending in a comma the next word after it isn't capitalized!

for example:

“I know this,” she said.

when the next word is a name, or I, you capitalize it as usual.

for example:

“What is it?” I asked.

“That’s not it,” Bob said.

SOoo… here’s what we’re going to do. I will be posting the images BELOW the cut, so that way if you would rather not see, you don’t have to!🖤 no offense whatsoever taken.

Before you continue, a note: NONE of these pictures are exactly how I picture my characters. These are simply the closest I could get/who I took inspo from when describing them. 🖤 Please do not feel like you need to agree w me. That is the beauty of reading, is it not? Love you. ALSo. This is long, but I wanted to include my notes for clarification if you wanted them. This was fun, getting to have a lil in depth convo w you guys.🥹

PS- IF YOU HAVE NOT READ MY FANFIC “Dealing With Our Demons” on ao3 (by ravenyenn19) & are planning to do so (thx in advance ily) THIS POST WILL HAVE SPOILERSISH. I say this bc while no plot will be ruined, you will see faces you are not meant to yet. 🖤

First up we have: Khalid Runa (Inej’s childhood best friend) & Rahul Runa (Inej’s older cousin) *these two are married, hence the shared surname*

Notes: Khalid is pretty close, actually. In DWOD, he has aquamarine/green eyes due to his partially Kaelish heritage & I do picture his skin tone to be a tad lighter due to this. ALSO: Khalid does have burn scars across most of his hands, though I was unable to find such an image to include that piece of “DWOD lore”. (The burns are from his years mastering ‘flame eating/fire dancing’ in the caravans.

Rahul: This image is mostly chosen for his facial structure, however I do picture Rahul to have close cropped hair (a sort of subversion upon the suli culture that makes his training as a medic easier. I do picture him also remaining clean-shaven with a skin tone that is very similar to his cousin, Inej Ghafa.)

Next: Nani (Mitra) Ghafa (Inej’s maternal grandmother)

Notes: This actress is actually Iranian, for note. SO: I do want to make it very clear that I picture Nani’s skin tone to be darker like Inej (though also I do think this photo was filtered bc the actress does seem to have slightly darker skin in other pics, I chose this one bc of her face & HOW SHE HOLDS HERSELF SO MUCH LIKE NANI.) All this being said, this one is pretttttty dang similar to how I pictured Nani while writing her. Facial features specifically. What a queen. What more is there to say? She could divine my tea leaves any time.

Sharya & Kahir Ghafa, Inej’s parents (technically not OG characters, but never named in canon)

Notes: Sharya is pretty dang close to how I imagined her, which is super cool considering I never used an inspo pic for either of the Ghafas when writing them (I found them for this purpose!). It probably sounds a bit weird, but like… I just knew how Sharya & Kahir looked. They were just…BAM. Full formed people in my head. This is ultimately SUCH A FLEX ON LEIGH BARDUGO’s PART. Like, we only really experienced glimpses of Inej’s parents through the few memories in her POVs but they absolutely stuck with me & formed wonderful characters as my fic progressed. (Of course this is my opinion, but I do hope ya’ll agree.🥹)

Kahir: So…. This pic is the closest I could get, & similar to Nani, I chose it based more on facial structure/in this case facial hair. HOWEVER, Kahir is very special to me. I wrote some of his scenes in moments after I had lost my godfather, (whom was the truest father I had. He meant everything to me, being my actual dad’s best friend, he helped raise me after my dad passed when I was 4.), hence, I feel the need to clarify- as I feel a bit of my own dad is in Kahir, if only in the love.)This pic is missing a smile that I imagine near permanent on Kahir Ghafa’s face, and eyes that I cannot explain in any other word but kind. Similar to Inej’s. Sparkly. Idk. ALSO: I do picture true black hair & less gray. Maybe a sprinkle of pepper in his beard, but not much. I just imagine Inej’s parents aging like fine wine. Idk.

Next….*drum roll*…. Dr. Lily Arbor (I waited so long to bring this girl to life.)

NOTES: Ok. So. Two pics here for our Darling Death Defier Mortician. 🫶🏻 So, the one on the left is more youthful to me, a bit closer (although not the right age) to how I imagine the Lily of Kaz’s childhood. The right being far closer to how I imagine 24 year old Lily. Yet, neither of these are exactly right. But they are close. The changes that are distinct within my mind are as follows: the eyes. I distinctly see them like 2 shades darker. Navy. It’s a rare eye color, but not that different. Next, the hair. In the left image, the curls are just right, but I imagine she keeps her hair slightly longer than that- both in girlhood & adulthood. Not nearly the length of Inej’s, but you feel me. Also I do imagine her hair a bit darker, like that sort of red with hints of almost brown in it? Maroon? Gosh I can’t explain but I am certain you guys probably get it. Less like Wylan’s orangish red. Lastly: this girl has more freckles. I don’t make the rules. (Actually I do since she’s a daughter of my mind, but no I don’t.)

Bonus heartbreak:

Jordie.🥹💔 (obviously aged up to if he were alive.) notes: NO ONE. I REPEAT. NO ONE looks exactly how I imagine the elder Rietveld son. The actor here is in fact Jess from Gilmore Girls. Milo is the closest I’ve come to finding an older Jordie face cast, based more on book Kaz in relation. His hair would obviously not be styled like the early 00’s. Obviously dark eyes like his brother. In a way, like Kahir, I imagine Jordie’s eyes would have a permanent sparkle of amusement that one would sometimes see mirrored in Kaz. I can’t explain it. I love Jordie & I’m about to have a fit all over again. 🫡

Next…. Bram Rietveld (technically not OG character, but he is not named nor described whatsoever in the canon material. Kaz only says that he and his brother missed their Da.🥹)

Notes: DO NOT COME FOR ME. I AM DEFENDING MYSELF. Not to sound cringe, but from the moment I put Kaz’s Da into DWOD, back in memories at the very very early stages of the story, I pictured Pedro. This was before the internet craze (I mean obvs he was famous but iykyk), & I know that sounds cringe but it’s true. Pedro Pascal IS Bram Rietveld. Like, I would change next to nothing. Obviously his voice would have a “southern” ring. Maybe he’d have slightly lighter skin naturally being of Kerch descent, but actually I imagine him quite tan at most points of the year from running the Rietveld farm & harvesting the wheat fields. Obviously, you can picture him differently, but this is damn near exact for me. Also, Last of Us only solidified that belief for me. Gosh dangit, look at this treasure! Bram loved his kids so much.

Are you ready? (I’d say I saved the best for last, but… Actually, no. I certainly did.) I present��

Emilia Winstrad, The Butcher of Belendt🪡

Notes: I love her. I love Emilia as much as I love the protagonists from my actual novel. She means so much to me. 🥹 I don’t think I can quite explain how excited I was (& how long I waited) to introduce you guys to Emilia. I hope you love her as much as I do in DWOD. As far as technical notes: Rachel McAdams (this actress) has quite honestly the exact facial features I pictured on Emilia. Like Bram, I feel like this is Em. However, there are a few minor changes: dark eyes like Kaz rather than hazel (it’s hard to tell here), & also the same dark hair as Kaz. True black. Tbh, I was shocked when I stumbled upon images of McAdams randomly (after already describing Emilia in the story)- it felt like seeing a picture of an online friend you’ve never actually met but they somehow appear exactly as you thought they would? Make sense?

Bonus pics that show the darker hair I imagine on another actress. Also the pipe picture just for funsies (iykyk)🫶🏻🪓

She is my pride & joy. Not only that, but I think she and Kaz were meant to be family. Notes: OBVIOUSLY these are pics of the same actress because Em & Elle are identical twins. However, I did choose an image of McAdams from earlier in her acting career as she did pass away younger than when Emilia appears in the story. The same notes apply here as to Em, dark hair & dark eyes would be the changes. Though, I do love this pic representing Elena as there is something a bit softer about her over her sister. Where Emilia applies blood red lipstick, Elle is a petal pink. I think that metaphor fits best, but undoubtedly I wanted Elena to have her own strength in the memories where we get to glimpse her. A woman who chose her baby son, Kaz’s life over her own. The type of mother who would have run into a burning building for her kids. A fierce little sun ray who deserved a yellow kitchen. 🥹

on a bigger recipe i have

chicken pasta with roasted vegetables

ingredients:

spaghetti

chicken breast(s)

vegetables and greens of your liking, i used asparagus, cherry tomatoes and spinach.

i also used basil for the chicken

may i remind you, that as a non native english speaker i sometimes get gems like this one lol

but anyway, clean your vegetables, chop ‘em up, sprinkle some salt and a dash of olive oil, throw in the oven.

now, for chicken.

i cut mine up into smaller pieces and really wanted to pound it for a smoother texture, but didn’t have the special mallet, decided to use a rolling pin aaaandddd…..

because of uneven force distribution it got roughed up pretttttty bad 😗 so don’t be like me, peeps. think first.

anyway, i fried the chicken till a nice brown crisp with some fresh rosemary and basil

re the “antis being autistic” thing, hm. i’ve got adhd and maybe autism (by which i mean i’ve been told i might have it, and i might, but i don’t see any reason at this time to go through a diagnostic process or anything)

from a neurodivergent perspective in general, i THINK i see where anon is coming from. i think we have a slight tendency to see things in black and white, and want our answers to be simple. not to say all neurodivergent people do this or all neurodivergent people are susceptible to it, but there’s a reason “cishet white man with adhd” is a pretttttty easy target for the alt-right pipeline: it offers verrry simple answers for them

alternatively though, a high number of autistic antis is likely just representative of the fact that fandom-goers in general are more likely to be autistic/adhd. devoting a huge portion of your time and energy and thinking to fictional worlds isn’t a very neurotypical thing to do haha. so its not surprising to see a lot of autistic/adhd folks on both the anti and proship sides
